Issues Under Review

Dear Colleagues,

The report from the Senate Administration Workgroup on Admissions has been submitted for Senate review. The Workgroup was established to define an updated framework for UC San Diego undergraduate admissions that is cognizant and responsive to changes in admissions requirements, including the elimination of the use of ACT or SAT scores in admissions decisions. As part of its charge, the Workgroup was asked to conduct a statistical analysis of the Holistic Review process and consider questions related to mathematics preparation, writing preparation, and major distribution of admitted and enrolled students. 

A link to the Report is provided in the Resources box. Faculty who wish to comment are welcome to do so. All comments received by December 8, 2025 will be included in the review materials for Senate Council consideration.
