Issues Under Review

EVC Simmons has requested the Senate’s review of revisions to UC San Diego Policy and Procedures Manual (PPM) 230-016 Procedures for Academic Senate Faculty Discipline. The Systemwide Guidelines on Faculty Discipline, Faculty Code of Conduct (APM 015), and University Policy on Faculty Conduct and Discipline Administration (APM 016) are currently under Senate review for revision. The proposed PPM changes are to align local procedures with the updated requirements in these documents. The revisions aim to reduce the time that it takes to resolve faculty discipline cases and promote consistent application of discipline across the UC system. 

A link to the procedures is provided in the Resources box. Faculty who wish to comment are welcome to do so. All comments received by October 24, 2025 will be included in the review materials for Senate Council consideration.
