Issues Under Review

Systemwide Vice President for Graduate and Undergraduate Affairs Yvette Gullatt has requested the Senate’s review of proposed revisions to the Presidential Policy on Education Loan Practices. The federal Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s recent guidance clarified that Regulation Z’s supervisory authority covers school‑offered private education loans. Consequently, UC’s Educational Loan Practices policy must be updated to address this change, ensuring comprehensive student protection across the university. 

A link to the policy is provided in the Resources box. Faculty who wish to comment are welcome to do so. All comments received by December 19, 2025 will be included in the review materials for Senate Council consideration.
