Academic Council Chair Ahmet Palazoglu submitted a proposal to establish a systemwide Academic Senate Committee on Climate Change and Sustainability. The proposed committee would be tasked with supporting systemwide coordination and shared governance on climate and sustainability issues and integrating sustainability more fully into the University’s academic mission.
A link to the proposal is provided in the Resources box. Faculty who wish to comment are welcome to do so. All comments received by February 27, 2026 will be included in the review materials for Senate Council consideration.
