UC Launches Innovative Video Series on Climate Change

The University of California has partnered with Vox Media to produce a six-week video series on climate-related science. The series is hosted by conservation scientist and UCLA Visiting Researcher Dr. M. Sanjayan, the videos explore the surprising elements of our lifestyle that can contribute to climate change and the groundbreaking work being done to mitigate its effects. The series aims to take the overwhelming subject of climate change and break it down into manageable topics to inspire viewers to transform the planet. The videos discuss everything from clean energy to food, religion to smartphones through interviews with experts, scientists, thought leaders and activists, including many researchers and experts in the UC community.

The videos will feature the following UC people:

  • Magali Delmas, UCLA Professor of the Environment
  • Mary Nichols, UCLA Professor and Chairman of the CA Air Resources Board
  • Marcus Worsley, Materials and Chemical Engineering at Lawrence Livermore National Lab
  • Jill Horst, Director of UC Santa Barbara’s Dining Services
  • Per Peterson, Professor of Nuclear Engineering at UC Berkeley
  • Dan Kammen, Professor of Energy at UC Berkeley
  • Dr. Veerabhadran Ramanathan, atmospheric scientist at UC San Diego’s Scripps Institution of Oceanography

Each of the six videos will be available for viewing at https://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/climate-lab as they are released.
