Academic Council Chair Steven W. Cheung has submitted the report, The Future of Graduate Education at the University of California, prepared by an Academic Planning Council (APC) workgroup, for Senate review. This report provides a comprehensive analysis of the state of graduate education, the challenges facing the current model, and a series of recommendations for faculty and campus leadership to consider. It addresses some of the most critical and complex issues affecting UC’s graduate education mission.
A link to the report is provided in the Resources box. Faculty who wish to comment are welcome to do so. All comments received by April 11, 2025 will be included in the review materials for Senate Council consideration.
